Synopsis:
Based on James Michener’s “Tales of the South Pacific,” the action takes place on a tropical
South Sea island during World War II. Ensign Nellie Forbush, a young and outspoken Navy nurse from Little Rock falls in love with Emile, a gallant, middle-aged Frenchman. Unsettled conflicts cause her to leave him, so Emile accepts a dangerous mission for the Americans.
