Synopsis:
Set in a rural town in the 1960’s, 11 year old Harriet befriends Ricky, a 30 year old retarded man who comes to live in the motel her family runs. Harriet’s alcoholic mother and promiscuous sister doubt the innocence of their friendship, as do others, yet despite the resistance they meet with, the improbable pair vow to be true to each other and themselves.
